Really Louisiana has help from the Supreme Court to eliminate the seats of black congress people but Maryland can't do likewise and eliminate a Republican seat? This is war. All rules are off or the dems are toast. Nothing at this stage is too radical!!
The weakening of oversight laws is not only the republicons' fault. Over the years, time and again, there were way too many Democrats who voted with republicons to take down necessary guard rails. The orange dumpster is now taking full advantage of what these Democratic traitors have been enabling him to do. They must have done some pretty good collecting of funds over the years.
The only concrete example I can think of right now, was Biden's vote for banks to raise interest on credit cards above 18%, which had been the rate in effect for decades. Some banks are now charging over 30% from what I read. Don't get me wrong, I thought Biden was a decent president, but that vote was plain wrong, just like his vote for Clarence Thomas. That's two major things he screwed up royally, along with naming Merrick Garland his AG.
Biden voted to raise credit card interest because he represented Delaware as Senator, and Delaware is where the major credit card companies are headquartered.
Delaware is also a major domestic tax haven: America's Cayman Islands.
Yup, you are correct. Unfortunately, there are too many states and countries around who do the same thing in secret. The Netherlands being one of them. They act like they're all pro-EU, but they allow large corporations to register there for the sole purpose of huge tax savings.
As James Talarico says, it's not a problem of left and right, it's a problem of top and bottom.
I used to be a high road guy. But after decades of waiting for the rest of the country to see the virtue of rising above the mire I've given that up. Carter was not a bad President, he was just misguided. He seemed to feel that the rightness of his policies and ideas was so evident that he didn't need to sell them to the country. The Clintons made that same mistake with their healthcare plan. You have to spoon feed the American public because they will not bother to find things out for themselves. They mostly listen to the first and loudest voice.
The Republicans know this and while they mostly lie they also know that by the time the lie is out it will be too late. MAGA, of course prefers the lie. That's how Republicans have become the party of family values, fiscal responsibility and foreign policy despite being very bad at all of those things and while spending the majority of their time rewarding the wealthy and penalizing the lower classes.
Republicans rely on Dems not to retaliate. To try to "heal the country." It frees them up to be as bad as they want and if Dems look like they might retaliate they say "hey, you didn't like it when we did it so you shouldn't do it." And Dems often give in.
It's time that ends. If we still have time to redraw districts we should do it. If we gain control or one or both houses it should immediately be Investigation/Impeachment Season. If we ever regain the White House AND Congress it should be Maximum Punishment Time! And I don't care how old Trump and some of the congressman and cabinet and staffers are, they need to serve time.
1. In a land of thieves, the honest person is a G-ddamned fool.
2. You don't send Little Lord Fauntleroy out to do battle against Bluto. If your opponent's a streetfighter, you need to respond with a streetfighter.
3. If your opponent kidney punches you, you don't pull out the rull book and lecture them on how it's against the rules to kidney punch. No, you kick them in the groin and when they're doubled over you kick them in the face. Then you stand over their unconscious body and say: "OK, you wanna fight dirty? So let's fight dirty!
I think a good way to fight them is to tell the truth to their lies as they are lying. Don't accept their canned responses, point out their absurdity. In real time to their faces in a matter of fact way. don't show anger, smirk or curse, if you must simply restate the facts. Phrase questions to lead them to tell their obvious lies like little marco saying daddy didn't fall asleep in that meeting. When marco says daddy is up all night ,point out that that is a well known sign of dementia and maybe that a person that is incapacitated won't be legally able to pardon him.
"This is not a gentleman's war. This time you're fighting for your very existence against the most devilish idea ever created by a human brain - Nazism. And if you lose, there won't be a return match next year... perhaps not even for a hundred years."

Partisan gerrymandering is a blight on the republic. It's a safe bet that neither party will ever stop their quest for power by any means necessary - it drives everything they do.
Do it the way California did. Their five-seat gerrymander is only effective until the 2030 census. Then the nonpartisan commission kicks back in. It is a very targeted response to the MAGA Texas caper.

Ice just received a $$ bump from the Senate! More money.
We have a domestic para military force in America. It must be stopped.
We all know what will happen at the elections, huh?
Americans deserve better.
oh dear! let’s decide on a clear, concise message, rally the influencers and rock the vote, now, before the midterms
