Let's note that calling Trump "out of touch" because he is operating contrary to public opinion does not mean "accidentally out of touch"; he is willfully out of touch. He revels in his lame-duck ability to simply disregard the will of the majority or bear any concern for the real consequences to individual Americans. Look at his R Congress enacting a budget that will close hospitals for so many of their own constituents, and for the rest of us.
We are now at the mercy of a president who gives zero attention to our concerns. That is not "out of touch," that is fckng totalitarian control. He doesn't need to dismantle elections. What good will elections do us when Mister simply ignores our mandates for the next three years?
The last thing we needed or wanted was a war in the Middle East. I think most Americans do not want to be fighting Iran. We had enough 20 years ago. Regardless, this should not be a deflection from the Epstein files or any other sexual abuse allegations against him. The Supreme Court did us a huge disservice when they said a sitting president has broad immunity from prosecution. The best remedy is to impeach him. That’s congress’ responsibility but too many Republicans will not do it. So now we must have a house cleaning in November as well as a senate cleansing.
Senator Kim is quite correct; Iran is no threat to the U.S., or at least it wasn't before our crazy and trigger-happy president and his war secretary stirred the pot. Now we have at least four service personnel confirmed dead, three expensive fighter jets shot down, and the whole region is headed into greater instability. How those two knuckleheads can say that this is a short-term engagement is irresponsible. This could go on as long as Ukraine or Afghanistan.
As far as the cost is concerned, that's really easy for the orange dumpster. Just cut more aid to FEMA, SNAP, Medicaid, ACA, rural hospitals and other programs for the poor and lower middle-class. That's his favorite thing to do anyway. And while he's at it, he'll plan in another tax cut for his billionaire and corporate benefactors.
Trump, much like Haman in ancient Persia, is a wannabe king who wants people to bow down to him. Hopefully, there will be plenty of Mordecais in the contemporary United States who will stand up to him and foil his devious plans.
Having this kind of intellectual and moral firepower discussing Trump’s rationale for war is like getting a group of Rhodes Scholars together to diving the motives of the schoolyard bully who has intimidated and shaken down everyone. The bully does it because he always has done it and gotten away with it.
Senator Kim is so well spoken on this issue. This illegal war in Iran is one more pressing reason the corrupt DJT regime needs to be removed from office.

My dream is that the SCROTUS will wake up with a new attitude and decide that our Founders wrote Article 1 of the Constitution for a reason-- they gave a lot of power to Congress. But what's happened is that out of a combination of cowardice and laziness Congress has over the years delegated more and more of its power to the President.
Well, a Federal court should rule that there are certain powers that the Founders wanted to remain with Congress, and therefore delegating those powers to the Executive is unconstitutional! In other words, when the lazy and frightened Congress dumps the problem in the President's lap and it goes horribly wrong, your Representatives and Senators shouldn't try to get away with going before the voters and say "Gee, I don't know! I must have been out sick that day!"
Of course this is a case of 'be careful what you wish for" because should there be a GQP Congress and a Democratic President, I'd be happy for Congress to be asleep at the switch.
Is it known for certain that Iran poses no threat? Perhaps not today, but soon enough, to have weapons it should never have? We can all agree that Iran has been the major terrorism sponsor worldwide.
