The disingenuousness has permeated every realm of our government. Performative crap like Lindsey's false support for Ukraine... sending two Jewish real estate agents to "negotiate" with Muslim extremists... opening financial accounts for children to juice the stock market... calling voter suppression efforts fraud investigations...

It's all buillshit meant to keep folks from seeing what is really going on, and it starts at the top and trickles down to members of Congress and from there throughout society. I see otherwise well-meaning people now acting this way because they can. They'll say one thing, and then, as their interests or desires shift, pull a 180. The rot starts from the head, and Graham was just a pinky ring.

It is being reported that Ukraine lost a great supporter in Graham. I don't believe that for a minute. Graham may have acted like he strongly supported Ukraine, but in the end he always folded to his lord and master.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) passed away suddenly Saturday night from an apparent tear in his aorta. Unfortunately, Senate colleagues and most legacy media outlets are avoiding the hard reckoning he deserves. Few American politicians have been as disastrously wrong in their advocacy for regime change in the Middle East, not just once but twice, or in their indulgence in an Israeli right-wing government that took Israel (and in turn, U.S. policy) down a morally abhorrent road of domestic repression of Palestinians. He supported authoritarian rule in derogation of Israel’s professed democratic values and reckless violence aimed at the utterly unattainable goal of obliterating military threats to Israel’s survival at the expense of attainable diplomatic solutions.

These are the words of Jen Rubin in her analysis of Lindsey Graham’s stance on Israel.

These are unique perspectives from our Contrarian writers.

I much preferred the Contrarian post this morning (Jen Rubin) that told the truth about LIndsay's many failures rather than sugarcoating the multifold failures of American power for my entire life. My entire life. Like, we never learn our lesson. And Lindsay kissed Trump's.... ring. That cannot be erased or papered over. He belongs in the same cohort as the oligarchs, university presidents, generals and admirals, Congressionals, and CEOs who prefer to suck up to Trump and allow him to get away with destroying our nation because to do otherwise might impact their bottom lines. Disgraceful.

A shameful article almost defending a nazi like figure, a man who praised one of the greatest crimes against humanity, the Hiroshima and Nagasaki war crimes, to defend the genocide of Gaza by analogy. T quote: ' That faith was not irrational; adversaries do measure American resolve, and allies do draw conclusions from American hesitation.' This is pure and simple fascism, and most of the progressive world sees the US as a force of destruction, perpetually at war with far lands, especially if they have oil. Millions have been slaughtered by this kind of propaganda, from Vietnam to Laos to Cambodia to Afghanistan to Iraq to Gaza to Iran, to mention a few.

The frightening revision of history even among supposedly progressive Americans is heartbreaking. War crimes and total destruction of countries are called errors, mind boggling - a total lack of care for indigenous human life.
