Ah, Editorial / Opinion pages of the Wall Street Journal! I discovered over 30 years ago that I had a near-overwhelming allergic response to that bastion of Conservative thought! But now, I break bread & enjoy a glass (or two) with most likely the same Conservatives who relished those pages. I've learned that true Conservatives value truth, integrity, the Constitution, the "conservation" of our American system of governance and the Rule of Law. It's a dishonor to the intellect of these people who brought thought provoking diversity of ideas to our political discourse to call the Trump CULT members and sycophants "conservatives." Can we call out the elephant in the room? They're fascists. So PLEASE YES - let's nag the WSJ to keep up their reputation for fine journalism.

I agree BUT…

There are no true conservatives (as George Will or others might have countenanced) in the Trump administration.

Conservatives would be working to protect the constitution, they would be aggressively fighting for states rights against an over-reaching federal government, and they would absolutely cringe at the current admins ignoring of the rule of law.

There are no true conservatives inside the White House, and very few in Congress…my question is where are they?

Before I give them a pass, I need to see them resisting what is going on.

Actively.

The constitution that is threatened is as much theirs as it is Democrat’s.

Conservatives remaining silent tacitly gives the Trump administration permission.

Recall, it wasn’t Democrats turning against Nixon that led to his eventual resignation. It was when his own party said ‘the gig is up’.

Right now those in the administration can say they are opposed by ‘the forces of the left’.

If TRUE conservatives turn against Trump, he will be caught in a pincer.

That would be one of the surest ways to end this current mess.

Additionally it would give pause to whomever comes next, because it would make clear the issue isn’t JUST personalities or politics.

The issue is constitutional.

I got it because I spotted that editorial the other day. Curses on WSJ for giving Kennedy a megaphone.

Ugh! Wrong again.

Don't want to be a spoiler so all I'll say is that I rejected the right headline because I thought, no, even that cabinet official wouldn't throw gasoline on the fire of public outrage about recent events.

You know…I used to trust the CDC, DOJ, DOD, SSA and a host of other agencies that we as a country relied upon. Did they always get it right? No. But they would admit to their failings, take corrective measures for their shortcomings and move on regardless of Democrat or Republican administration.

Then came January 20, 2025 and all that trust and expertise was thrown out the window with the truly most unqualified sycophants of any prior administration. I don’t trust a single thing that comes from this administration regardless of the department. NOTHING. NOT A DAMN THING! They are either lying or incompetent or both, all to keep the man-child wannabe dictator happy.

This is important information but hopefully this column becomes a way to fight back. Not just a quiz.

The article mentions the comments from readers have an impact. How else can we challenge these lies and skewed realities?

Sell whatever stock you have in CBS, ABC or corporations that stand tall to Fascism.

Yep, i guessed right again, but this time i refuse to subject myself to reading the article. Putting an op-ed by RFK on "trust" tells me all i need to know. The man has broken trust with every one of us, and about the only thing we can trust now is that broken health will be the lot of too many Americans as long as he heads the CDC. Whether it's the brain worm or some other cause, the man is deeply unwell, and his malign and delusional influence bodes ill for the entire country. It did not have to be this way.

Bobby Brainworm needs to go.

I am truly horrified at how much of our media and press is selling out American democracy to Fascism. We really do need to get more moral and ethical people to run our corporations. What we have now simply prostitutes itself for the bottom line.

Sickening!

Shameful!

Where are the Democrats in airing their perspective? Clearly erring. The big megaphones all belong to the Trump administration -- Fox News, X, WSJ. And with the National news organizations all bending over backwards to bow deferentially, afraid to do anything that could be considered a challenge for the administration to address (like Trump's decision to take all our taxpayer money, not to benefit the public by providing needed services, but to enrich himself, fellow oligarchs, and wealthy industry, through a massive tax break that citizens will be paying for for generations to come). How this is not considered corruption and self-enrichment by every news outlet is beyond me. It should not be required that the megaphone belong to Democrats, who are so far behind this game, that they have none, ... but that is where we are at. Democrats have no mouthpiece to trumpet the truth, and the news media have either waved a red MAGA hat, or a white surrender flag.

Proper headline for all three examples should have been “Did you see my lips move?”

"It’s not exactly news when the opinion pages of The Wall Street Journal echo the Republican Party line with all the nuance of ventriloquists and puppets."

Nor is it exactly news when Jen and company echo the Democratic Party line "with all the nuance of ventriloquists and puppets."
