Would it be possible to have the event & not invite the president & his staff? It’s not a celebration for him & his staff, it’s for the press.

Oh what the hell. An intense trauma with bullets flying around would blow anybody away. It's going to take quite awhile to recover. Nobody could come away without an emotional scar. Stay close to those who care so you don't have to worry about talking about this.

April and Norm! I’m relieved you’re both physically ok. PTSD is a natural outcome when you are in these war like conditions at home. We know where this came from. Your lives are not worth this shit. Please be careful and know we are grateful for you both, Katie P and all the rest who have bravely stood with the people. We love you ❤️🧡🩷💙🖤🧡🤎💔

Glad you’re all okay!

I think you were right in going April!

Good for you, love Baltimore, my dad worked at the Peabody for 30 years!

Trump ultimately loved last night. It turned out to be his dream event. As an onlooker, the early images of the event felt like complicity on steroids.

So glad that April and Norm are okay.

The key question is, why does Trump attract so much violence? Could it be that he thrives on it? In many ways, I feel like the so-called shooting was another set-up to distract, and try to rescue Trump's toilet-level public opinion ratings (won't work), and provide him an opportunity to shill for his wretched ballroom. Someone better check Trump's ear this morning.

I agree with you that it feels staged. As a matter of fact, I think every one of these supposed assassination attempts has been staged.

"The key question is, why does Trump attract so much violence?"

Could it be that the Left so thoroughly hates him that the rhetoric and talking points convinces someone to take action?

I think I get April's point of view. Being in any way a part of this violent administration, even just participating in a news conference, is in a way giving a pass to all of that insanity.

I’m so glad you both are well!

To continue with the Yiddish, it was bashert you should be there. Witnessing and reporting the horror in real time, what American kids go through too often. What should be a safe place, a school or a ballroom, turned into a potential shooting gallery. So grateful you’re both safe.

I agree with Jen. It feels it was about egos to attend.

Most events of this nature are to see and be seen. Some may actually have wanted to hear the president!

Though I would have liked more people to have the idea of walking out when the president began to speak or came in.

My question is why any reporter would attend this event if the President is in attendance? You all have criticized the press normalizing his behavior. What do you think this event does? It glorifies him. Don’t go.
