Geno did not apologize to Dawn. He apologized to “the staff.” And. He did not apologize to our Gamecock FAMs for ruining our moment of joy.

I agree that his actions took away the joy of the moment. I can also see that it could have had an impact on the UCLA game affecting our players and coach, but Dawn Staley would never make excuses. I admire her even more for her actions to try to move on. The team has given us much joy this year. They should be proud of their accomplishments. As for Geno he should call and give her a personal apology. There is absolutely no excuse for his actions!

Articles like this one detract from what UCLA accomplished in this tournament.

Why reduce the tournament to a childish squabble between two coaches?

UCLA played a great game, but just as you don't want a distraction from the tournament win, as a Gamecock fan, I wanted to celebrate the win over UCONN. And remember it was Geno who was the one responsible for this.

I'm not forgetting Geno's responsibility. The episode really reflects poorly on him.

It bothered and surprised me that Staley was so angered and distracted by Auriemma that she wasn’t jumping for joy over the win of her team. This went on for some moments. He was a big-time jerk and seems to have gotten under her skin big-time. Her team had just beat his team’s ass so why was she so upset? It seems to me that as a coach, she should know a sore loser. Did she do it for the drama, the cameras? She successfully drew attention to his bad behavior. Scored points there.
