"Goodbye, East Wing; hello 999 capacity, $250 $300 million dollar big empty room."

Hm, sounds just like megachurches and golf courses. George Carlin suggested using those as either housing for the homeless or prisons for the rich.

If you want to be totally accurate it should read:

"Goodbye, East Wing; hello 999 capacity, ̶$̶2̶0̶0̶, ̶$̶2̶5̶0̶, $300 million dollar big empty room."

I wonder where that extra $100 million above the original estimate is going?

And gold spray paint as far as the eye can see.

When he extorts that $230,000,000 "settlement" from the DoJ, that taxpayer money will pay for some of it.

The Oval Office looks like Temu Liberace decorated it. Now the entire East Wing is gone. God knows what's next.

Trump is the stereotype of a used car salesman.

DJT’s latest estimate is $350M.

Must be pressuring more donors to sign up. $250M was SO easy.

I read it earlier today, and now I can't find it again. My apologies for no source, I don't usually do that.

This vandal should be charged with 1st degree vandalism. If anyone did what he’s done we would be in looking at jail time.

And what do "we the people" do?

Nothing.

Trump not only destroys the East Wing, but American democracy, and what do we all do?

Nothing.

Does anyone hear even a hint of outrage at the obvious destruction of everything that America has held dear?

Not a peep. Not even a whimper, a plea, but just endless babble about now bad what is being done is, and how we all just have to just suck it up and "Chalk another one up for the hollow men".

Well, I for one am not ready to roll over and beg for mercy from these creeps.

Democrats, you have failed!

The same can be said of our media. Standing tall for democracy is not your bag. Money is your bag.

And, until some semblance of morality and ethics surfaces here, we can all remain confident that our country will remain at the bottom of the Epstein catch basin.

At the very bottom.

It was reported in 2015 that this president's surname (dis)graced the facades of at least fifteen buildings in New York City. Since then some chose to remove that repulsive name. Then of course there was the Atlantic City casino that also bore his name before it failed, along with various golf courses. The point: he loves, he NEEDS to see his name plastered all over public edifices. (Remember the joke about edifice complexes.) So we can be sure he will name this ballroom after himself. We'll be lucky if he doesn't try to re-brand the Washington Monument or even the White House. All the while, MAGAGOP members of Congress and voters sit silently.

There should be a name change. This is not the White House ballroom. Call it Donald Trump‘s Throne Room.

I see the ballroom issue as a sideshow, better to call it an old fashioned freak show, to supplement the greater Horror Show going on on in the main circus arena. It is without a doubt symbolic of Trump destroying the democracy we fought for some 250 years ago. I wrote "Trump needs a ginormous gilded ballroom fit for a king. Who are we mere mortals to deny him such a royal presidential perk? -- “It was never thought of as being much.” Trump about the East Wing" here https://halbrown.substack.com/p/trump-needs-a-ginormous-gilded-ballroom

Not satisfied with vandalizing our democracy and the alliances we built in WWII Trump is now vandalizing the the East Wing built by Roosevelt in 1942 seeing the need to house additional staff and offices to reflect the growing complexity of the federal government at the time.

Lack of understanding about the boundaries of property ownership can lead to unauthorized use, especially among adolescents during critical phases of moral development.

Early trauma, ineffective parenting, diminished empathy such as that experienced by Trump at the hands of hid father can increase vulnerability to these outcomes., which often persist into adulthood, influencing functioning across various domains. Deficits in empathy and concern for others are correlated with heightened aggression and antisocial conduct.
