Levi’s Stadium will no longer be just a football field — it’ll become a tinderbox where two levels of American law enforcement are on a collision course.
Absolutely correct, but I have two additional points:
1. REAL police usually wear regular uniforms or, in the case of detectives, civilian clothes. BUT, they all wear badges, are NEVER masked and the ones in uniform wear name tags and body cameras. They do not douse legal protesters in tear gas, pepper spray, etc. AND they usually do not enter citizens homes, UNLESS they have a judicial warrant.
2. DHS employs mostly thugs, as in the Nazi bovine, are mostly masked (what, about 98%?), do not wear uniforms, but mostly camouflage fatigues - which shows them to be what they are: Dump's secret militia, aka Gestapo, NOT POLICE. They do not wear body cameras or name tags, their badges are usually hidden. They kill US citizens and immigrants alike, they break people's car windows, they break into citizens homes without judicial warrants, they tear gas and pepper spray legal protestors and children and they disappear immigrants and US citizens while leaving their children alone in cars.

If you think this is a tinderbox, wait until Mister sends ICE to the FIFA World Cup later this year. Soccer is notorious for emotionally charged audiences. It won't take much provocation at all to start either a stampede or additional violence. I truly hope the world boycotts the games in America. It could be The Trump-Vacant Kennedy Center Part Two instead of a bloody massacre.
ICE are not police..........................they should not wear patches with that word on their uniforms..............they are only immigration and customs enforcement.................... Period.
Police is a civil force of a national or local government, responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the maintenance of public order.
ICE at the Super Bowl is really political theater. Who are they going to target? Immigrant spectators who have purchased tickets to the most expensive annual sporting event in the US? Or will they target the workers at the stadium, disrupting service to sky boxes that house some of the richest Republican donors in the country? The NFL is not exactly a hotbed of Antifa activity. The whole operation is probably so that Corey Lewandowski and Kristi Noem can see the game on the taxpayer’s dime.
I don’t think these guys can tell an immigrant from a long term US citizen. They haven’t shown that ability so far. But think of all the workers it takes to get the Super Bowl venue up and running for a crowd this size. Not to mention the attendant events. They’re gonna be grabbing the workers who make it happen. With their usual lawlessness. That’s my fear.
Good point Bill. I doubt there will be much of an attendance by our SF Bay immigrants at this pricey event. ICE at the Super Bowl is all about optics, Daddy is up to his usual intimidation tactics. ICE is not needed or welcomed here. Stay the hell out!
This northern Californian is now waxing nostalgically for when the 49ers played at Candlestick Park! Can you imagine those pansy ICE agents freezing their butts off as the wind whips into the stadium from the bay? Oh well, back to the Levi Stadium in the south bay: ICE agents trolling and hunting for "illegals" at a Super Bowl game at those high ticket prices? Certainly, their presence is more performative spectacle than anything else. Or, did Noem/Trump give some select ICE thugs the Super Bowl gig as a "reward" as Trump's gestapo to watch the game for free? I do hope the crowd boos and whistles at them in unison!

It is political theater. It's also punishment because we know that there's nothing Trump likes more than posing with big trophies, and the
