The real lesson of 9/11 is our change from “land of the free and home of the brave” to land of the surveilled and home of the terrified. 9/11 truly messed with our heads.

We don’t have the manpower to do the critical work that needs to be done to keep our country safe. We have already had to many casualties of federal workers by incompetents such as Pete Hegseth who is on a crusade to kill DEI, wokeness and anything else he and felon Trump deem as unacceptable. Another event like 911 could make mitigation worse than we could imagine.

Excellent commentary. It's like Trump is lowering the drawbridge across the moat, and letting the hoards rush in. It's simply incomprehensible. Of course, if a domestic attack occurs from a foreign entity, he will blame the "radical left", Democrats, dying Biden, Obama, hell, even his kids; never himself with whom the buck really stops. He is absolutely the worst and most ignorant demagogue who could ever inhabit the Oval. He is simply not able to understand or recognize who is a real enemy and a real friend, hence the enmity with Canada and the sucking up to leaders of the Middle East and Russia, who are laughing up their sleeves, while lining up their terrorists.

He’s the perfect Manchurian candidate/president. Vlad Putin couldn’t be happier.

All those in charge of this country after 9/11 never got the picture. Rather than coordinating with the different agencies, DHS is more interested in hiring thugs to not only deport innocent and non-criminal immigrants, but also to spy on and shoot US citizens.

There were far too many different intelligence agencies, who never coordinated with each other before 9/11, but DHS has made it worse.
