"That’s why state attorneys general need to step up, use every legal tool they have, and scrutinize this deal. Both a free market—one without monopolies—and our democracy depend on it."

Agreed, in the interim I will continue to rely on indepdent journalism like the Contrarian for my source of news. Sincerely, One seriously concerned and grateful citizen.

This merger should not be allowed.

Did Miss Lindsey always have that ugly sofa, or did he update the upholstery to match Trump's taste?

The latter, of course.

Vance might like it, too.

Neera - Thank you for your clear and compelling analysis. This merger is not only bad for consumers and journalism, it is the epitome of crony capitalism. We can all flex our financial power by refusing to consume their “news” and streaming services. Nothing is as painful to these guys as loss of revenue.

It is bad for our democracy for the media to be a virtual monopoly and even worse that so much of the media is owned by Bari Weiss, the Weisswascher in Chief, who kills any story that is critical of Dear Leader.

Miz Lindsey, how much has Elllson (the guy who never earned a dollar by/for himself) paid you in the past and how much is he paying you on a monthly basis?

Are the state attorneys general on the case, or do we need to rally them to it?
