Thanks! LOVE this show.

Love the doctors, nurses and staff. Hate that our backward country still doesn't have universal health care and has let insurance companies and corporate investors turn a right into a profit.

I don’t remember the last time I loved a prestige TV drama so much.

We don't have a healthcare system. We have a wealthcare system.

I love this show because it shows the truth. I may not have worked in the emergency department, but I worked close to 12 years in community health. I was a member of the behavioral health staff at a medical clinic, but had to leave because of burn out and I was just one of many. The shows how we love our work, but how our work is killing us.

The show is great and your article helps bring out the themes that make it so relevant in this world, with private health insurers dominating the fears of patients in terms of whether they will get covered, and the hostility of the Administration to the science behind medicine, which has provided broad-based benefits to the American people. I just found out the other day that the guy in charge of our health cut off the penis of a dead raccoon he found on the side of the road. What a guy.

I love this show. The characters are so distinctive and interesting. I worked for Medicaid for 32 years from an eligibility office in a tiny mining town to the Governor's Office for the ACA implementation. So the cuts in Medicaid and the ACA hit home with me. EMT's brought me into the ER 18 months ago with a broken and splintered femur. I got to bypass the waiting room for my own tiny little room and bed. The pain was so bad I cannot accurately say how long until I was seen, but I think it was pretty fast. Once the doctor pulled the bone back into place I was flooded with relief and didn't even have surgery until the next day. It is really interesting to compare my experiences with The Pitt. Fortunately the rest of me was good and I would have made a short and rather dull episode. Dr. Robby is an amazing and intricate character. He is awesome.

Thanks for the great article!!

Thanks. Now I don’t have to put myself through the torment of watching a show whose anger, sadness, and frustration I share.

Oh it is also incredibly compelling and entertaining, there’s humor and warmth throughout the show too, not to mention just amazing cinematography and choreography of the large cast. Great great show!

Wish I had HBO just for this show.

Thanks, sounds like an accurate show.

I don't watch it though....too triggering for me.

I am a medical professional (NP) and I don't work in health care anymore. Burned out and fed up.

What a timely commentary on the status of our country - medically, socially and politically. I'm only sorry that it does not show up on an over-the-air network channel.

It’s true but I think a show like this needs HBO level investment (not to mention plenty of r rated content that would never make it to broadcast TV)

That is especially true with the current ownership of the networks. The only one that could conceivably air it would be PBS with warnings ahead of the showing.
