The way things are going, we should expect another black swan event changing the course of the current regime, though. Yes, we keep up the dissent, but sooner or later incompetence will bring these fools down--including the high court. Don't despair--as we deal with the Project 2025ers, Trump will topple of his own accord.

I never want to hear anything from conservatives about how their judges are not activists. They definitely are! This decision is the latest substituting their policy preferences for what Congress enacted. And it gives us minority rule over the majority. Shame.

I'm guessing that 6 members of the Supreme Court desire a return to the days of Jim Crow. What is amazing to me is that more outrage is not expressed.

Thanks for the encouragement and hope. This is also a wake up call for the Democratic party. They have relied on the Black vote in competitive races for the past 40 years. But now the Black vote will be divided and diluted. If White and other POC Dems don't turn out to vote in record numbers in November, we might have a red wave instead. Trump won't need the SAVE Act to save his GOP congressional sycophants. The SCOTUS MAGA 6 have rigged all future elections in favor of White supremacy.

Roberts is brainless, ignorant, feckless…..scum. He does his position, and this nation, a great disservice!

Just when things get even darker, someone lights a candle. Thank you, Ms. Smith!

An excellent reminder of history.

And yes, while it is unfair, and it is unjust, it's important to see what is coming with your eyes wide open and use the time to prepare.

The time is well past when Justices (yes, of the U.S. Supreme Court) should have been impeached for what is distinctly NOT "good Behaviour." All 9 ignored "But Congress may..." plain English words. Some (6) now have ignored the VRA law without any clear Constitutional justification.

Let your Congresspeople all know regardless of party.

Uncle Joe Biden had an opportunity to do something about the SCROTUS when he took office, but he was too much of a timid traditionalist to take action. So what did he do? He set up a committee to "study the question"

Now I've been watching politics for my entire adult life and I've learned that whenever a politician doesn't want to do anything but has a need to APPEAR to be doing something, the first thing they do is set up a committee to 'study the question'. The committee immediately vanishes from the news, and months or even years later it produces a report that nobody reads and ends up in a dark and dusty file cabinet (or an electronic one) somewhere.

When Democrats control the White House, the House and the Senate, the first order of business ought to be to add 4 Justices to the Court. And to deliver a message to the SCROTUS 6-- "Congratulations! You have 4 new colleagues. You can like it, or you can lump it!" Sure, I know that the Repugnican'ts will do the same when they have a chance, but so what! The Dems can do the same again later. Eventually the Court will be so big that they'll need to hold session in Yankee Stadium to accommodate all the Justices, but they're a bunch of bright girls and boys and they'll figure out how to make it work

I actually think rotating terms is the best answer but the constitutionality of that will surely be challenged. And guess who gets to decide!? RIGHT, THE SCROTUS WILL DECIDE THAT QUESTION. Talk about conflict of interest!!!

Clarence, the gifted luxury RV bus lover, surely never ever looks in a mirror. For if he did he would see that obviously he's not a rightwing white supremacist.

Well, there's always this side of the story:

"In Blow To Democrats, SCOTUS Rules They Have To Stop Being Racist"

https://babylonbee.com/news/in-blow-to-democrats-scotus-rules-they-have-to-stop-being-racist

From the "article":

""This is a dark day for our democracy," said Democratic Representative Pete Aguilar. "We've been racist for a long, long time. Frankly, we believe that all voting district maps should be drawn based on the locations of fried chicken eateries. What's the problem with that? Not being racist would be really hard, and we don't want to. This is a disgusting overreach of an unhinged Supreme Court."

At publishing time, Democratic leaders had asked for clarification as to whether they could still be racist against "breakfast tacos.""
