trump pardoned insurrectionists who attacked law enforcement at the Capitol. trump defended the murderer from Saudi Arabia and treated him as a statesman. The men and women of our armed forces and intelligence services took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. I watch "The American Revolution" and see what a price in blood and horror was paid to make the Constitution even possible and how critical it is to the rule of law. Those who pay in blood and life have an obligation and right to question whether a military order is legal. They do NOT answer to trump, someone who has absolutely no honor and no devotion.
And now I see Robert Reich announcing to all of us who care that Ted Cruz has introduced the Bill that would use the Rico statutes against No Kings protest and other organizers of groups exercising their first amendment rights. He calls them “riots“ and of course throws out that favorite bogeyman of the right, George Soros. He says there is “considerable evidence” that sorrow is behind all this. Is there no end to the depravity of the right.
No, there is no end to the depravity of the right. It's just that they believe human beings are incapable of thinking for themselves and organizing themselves without a mysterious, monied benefactor. I suspect that is because independent thinking and judgment are foreign to them, as is working for a cause bigger than their pocketbook.
And I had thought there was some hope for Ted Cruz because he came out a while ago after the Kirk shooting and said hate speech is not illegal, it’s protected speech. Now he’s done a complete turnaround. I guess I should’ve expected that out of him but I’m disappointed nonetheless.
Trump's escalating rhetoric is further evidence of this mentally damaged mind. The list of his malfeasances is long, from human rights violations to mass murder. It wouldn't be a stretch to charge him with war crimes. He has exposed every weakness in our previously thought secure system of checks and balances. New guardrails are needed, with teeth of enforcement. This can not happen again.
Censorship and complicity is the problem. Much of the mass media has been compromised into silence. What Trump says and does should be fully and widely reported. The lack of spine is not just in Congress.
We can fight back. We are not alone, and we have ideas, which too many on the right seem to lack. Their playbook is not new. We need to develop a new one and learn to use it together.

The cur was able to keep some of the herds or flocks separated from the others by nipping them at the heels. So the term to cur them or to cur them over means to keep them in line. Basically a noun being used as a verb.
In Victorian England it was an insult to be called a cur because it referred to a despicable man other than a mutt dog that’s unattractive and aggressive.
This is not a term I use often but it makes for interesting speech plus it describes Donald Trump quite accurately.

I agree one hundred percent with Senator Coons admonition to put down the cell phones. I have made a vow to myself to unplug on Sundays and only use my phone to take photos or call friends and family. We need physical proximity and fewer projected images. Good Grief! When I entered the military in 1975 one of the classes we had was on the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice). Topics covered included lawful and unlawful orders. This isn't some earth-shattering revelation to those in uniform.
