We have an 'administration' staffed with utterly incompetent narcissists and people are dying because of it. And yet, those who can make it all stop, refuse to do so.
Real planning, taking multiple aspects into consideration and developing a cohesive plan of action based on reality is DEFINITELY NOT PART OF THE CURRENT REGIME. This war is a fever dream made reality by Felon47 and Kegsbreath, neither of whom appear to have any real or meaningful knowledge or comprehension of how our military functions, international relations, the importance of our historic alliances, or even the level of armaments in our stockpiles. It is disgraceful to have such incompetents running the operation and disgusting that they have made America directly responsible for the deaths and traumas resulting directly from their ineptitude.

I agree the (retired) military is too reticent (my word) to weigh in on the current catastrophe of unwanted/un-needed war (again my words). Sadly, many of you military people vote blindly for republicans. I hope the switch has flipped for you and you will think before you vote (if your lazy ass votes) and if you don’t vote, make sure you get your lazy ass out and VOTE.
I’m not surprised and frankly no one should be…our media, print and otherwise are so tainted by the billionaire owners that it’s not even worth reading anymore. No objectivity, no real investigative journalism with facts…that information is hardly even available anymore in places we use to expect it. Few publications cover news objectively. The national nightly news is also a joke. They don’t seem to understand what “news” is anymore. Hearing about a murder trial 30 years after the fact every night? Really? That’s news to you guys? Amazing. I could give 10 examples a day of that. When they do cover real news, it’s a blip with little to no explanation of the big picture…worthless. But Substack has messages and essays daily that address real issues and objective points of view with detail, rationale and research!!! Time to cut all those guys off!
That same dynamic is playing out in every sector of American life that has made progress in the past 50 years. The environmental gains that were made are being erased just as climate change makes them more critical. The diplomatic and social gains made by career experts in foreign service, erased. The scientific gains, attempting to be erased. This is not sustainable.
My bright spot is that when Trump flames out--and he will, and sooner rather than later--his cult will fall apart. We must never let them out from under their rocks again.
My brother-in-law is a sociologist who was employed by the U.S. government to help facilitate our withdrawal from Afghanistan. When Trump accelerated the schedule against all advice, his team’s work was ruined. All of the actual benefits of diversity and inclusion identified by sociologists was politicized and thrown in the trash.
And we are a federal worker household, so I can’t mention which agency is responsible for negating decades of work by our family. Gone, along with all of the expertise that was trashed when thousands were sacked by DOGE or forced out. It’s no wonder the Democratic socialists are making inroads. At this point, America will not recover unless some measure of equity is restored and we return to safeguarding our collective resources.
But again: the cult WILL die. Nice to chat with you.
