sounds very questionable, bruises earlier fighting how he was left alone really suspicious, and they had his phone. This smells really BAD, lies guilt all over it!! Jim Crow all the way!
What teenager, of any color, leaves his phone with departing friends, while he stays behind? Or, more accurately, what teenager leaves his phone behind, period?!
I haven't seen any mention of the racial makeup of the grand jury. Is that a secret? Are there any mechanisms for seating a grand jury or is it whoever the prosecutor wants?
It certainly looks fishy. The bruising on his back and the back of his head. They never should have left him on that island. My two cents: those entitled kids knew he was not coming home with them.
While I am a white woman I identify with Only One Syndrome. In college I was the only female in my Sophomore physics class. Nobody was overtly rude to me but I felt I had to prove myself. While I realize that this a small taste of what minorities experience it was still anxiety producing. It has given me great respect for those who do not fit the norm whether due to race, sexual orientation, disability or anything else. It takes courage to put yourself out there every day.
That said I find think the grand jury ignored evidence of foul play because the victim was black.
I find it very concerning that, in spite of reading multiple reports on this story, this is the first time I've seen any details that suggested foul play, yet that Dr. Mitchell's report certainly raised as a possibility! Where was journalism when this report came to light?

This situation doesn’t pass the smell test. Something really reeks.

It certainly is suspicious, especially in light of the seeming "resurrection" of the lynchings by hanging black people from trees so far this year.
Nolan Wells' family deserves to know how and why Nolan died.
