This, from the Judge preiding over the Reflecting Pool absurdity: “How am I to look at these statements as anything other than statements by the chief executive urging your office to pursue a prosecution that you have told me is meritless?”
How can that not be followed by disbarment of the prosecutors? Or jailing them for contempt?
Hopeful news on both the voting and reflecting pool.
What is happening on the effort to stop the Arch de Trump? That may be DJT's greatest single obscenity and they intend to break ground almost immediately
Thank you @ Norman Eisen for your brilliance, ethics, tenacity and resolve. You and @ Jennifer Rubin are beacons of hope in these crazy times. We’re lucky you’re on Team America!! Thanks
Why is the executive order on voting and the USPS proposed action not determined to be election meddling, vote tampering, as well as intended impeding/tampering with the delivery of mail? All are federal offenses and need to be prosecuted as such. It doesn't (or shouldn't) matter who institutes these actions against voters; it is illegal. Trump and his minions are once again breaking the laws of our country by doing this.
As for the reflecting pool fiasco, Trump, in his demented incompetence, is seeking a scapegoat in his typical 'blame someone else' deflection. Mr. Davey took nothing away from the pool, except possibly a wet hand, which landed him in a revenge-driven legal battle that should have been dismissed as specious from the outset. Thanks to Norm Eisen and those who defended him.
The assistant US Attorney admitted that they rushed Mr. Hearn's indictment prior to obtaining requested information from the Interior Department. Shoot, ready, aim seems to be the way the Trump administration does business.
Now about the proposed timeline for the arch's groundbreaking; is there any strong resistance being directed against it? Why no cease and desist order?
Agree. Of all Trump's terrible ideas on destroying public spaces, the arch is probably the worst. Mr. Eisen is busy, but perhaps he can take this on as well.
It's difficult to say which is worse, destroying a piece of the White House to build a gross white elephant (ballroom) or defacing a federal green space to build an arch. Neither are welcome additions.
🍊 goes after what he can do quickly with no chance of being stopped, ie., hire crews to chainsaw Kennedy Center trees, equipment to destroy the East Wing, build the Bordello Ballroom, and break ground for the Arch, slapping our Military Dead in the face. Republicans still haven't had a bridge too far?
I don't want to have to wait three years to undo this disgusting assault. The scars are so deep.
Lots of people vote the label they learned from their grandparents and parents. Plenty of my rural cousins still think they are Lincoln Republicans even though, to do that today, they would have to vote Democratic. They do not participate in election work or listen to political analysis; they just show up and vote a straight ticket and go home.
Thank you, Norm and colleagues, for your outstanding legal work and many wins to protect our battered democracy. I salute you! Happy Labor Day weekend! 💙
Boy, Norm, are you and your colleagues exhausted from all of the lawsuits and proceedings you have participated in? I think not. I am personally energized and hopeful because all of you are our swords cutting through the absolute BS that this regime has bestowed upon us. Keep it up!!
Every insanity project is illegal. The companies should be held accountable for accepting the jobs. Anyone accepting stolen goods, or participates in an illegal act gets arrested and indicted. Damn their Complicity in the destruction.
I'm willing to guess at how SCOTUS will address the USPS system. They might well permit a state by state opt in system for the 2028 election and beyond that allows the states to manage the applicability to their voters. It will take several years to verify the quality of the system; showing that its error rate is below the current manual system is a must.
The error rate has to be below the threshold to certify a very close election. For instance, Al Gore lost to George Bush by 537 votes in Florida out of 5.96 million votes cast in the 2000 election. The error rate must be such that the outcome would be a 5-sigma result - fewer than 1 mistake in a million votes. However, it will take serious analysis to challenge the filter being politically targeted against Democrats in Republican states.
I’m so glad to see a piece on Monica McIver. She did nothing wrong, and the charges against her are ludicrous. It’s difficult to believe that a judge refused to dismiss her case. I’ve been looking for information about her case everywhere, and thanks for giving your attention to her.

Can't WE draw a little blood here?

That, along with his desecration of the East Wing for his ridiculous ballroom.

Yep, just another example of it.

“Trump is Running his 2020 Playbook.”
That’s because: “Stupid is, as Stupid does”.
But……what does that say about the Americans who voted for him? in some cases, THREE times!
😱🤯🤬

Interesting. That gives me some more insight.
An especially wonderful roundup this week, Norm. Many many thanks. A happy labor day to you for all the laboring you've done on our behalf.

Wow, you are so tall! Thank you for all that you do to protect our democracy.
