Let's remember who didn't make it home already; I can't say this any better than the letter writer to the NYT:

"To the Editor:

Re “Trump Witnesses Return of Bodies of 6 U.S. Service Members” (nytimes.com, March 7):

Can someone please tell President Trump that wearing a baseball cap while witnessing the return of fallen soldiers, even if you are the top dog and commander in chief, is in very poor taste?

In what world does someone start a war that almost immediately costs the lives of six service members, then don a casual cap to see them home? It’s not a golf course, for Pete’s sake! It is a somber situation. These people gave their lives for their country. Show some respect.

Yeah, the chicken shit coward who calls us all "suckers & losers." I and my platoon mates in VN fit his cowardly description. He's got all the class of a crab infestation, and the character of a 4th world outhouse.

Heartfelt gratitude for Mr. Terzano's service to our country. I think his analysis is quite right, but would add it's not just Trump the chicken hawk, it's the entire Republican party. Trump only exists because the Republican party allows him to exist. All of the horror and deaths of this war by choice is on the shoulders of the Republican party.

Totally agree and well said, sir.

We should nickname the Republicans from hereon as the CHICKEN HAWK party, led by its cult leader TACO. (No offense to the feathered bird, who is far more honorable). The true republican patriots have left the boys hooked on video games.

I served in Nam for 15 months and the sight of him posing with anyone in the military is nauseating. The only way to stop the WH Crime Boss is to retake the Congress with a super majority in the Senate. Impeach & Convict. Unlikely, but it's the only way. There's a civil war going on in America between the Fascist States of America and the Democratic States of America. At this time there is no USA.

Thank you for writing this excellent piece. And thank you too for your service. Viet Nam Vets have been horribly mistreated by our country for serving in that awful war. Well, all wars are awful, and the current one is shaping up to be even worse.

This is the kind of article that we should be reading in the legacy media op-ed pages. It is accurate, succinct, and to the point. It is also truthful, something that we don't get muc of unless we stick to sites like The Contrarian, The Guardian, Atlantic, and the BBC.

"He (Trump) has ordered “Operation Epic Fury,” projecting his wannabe warrior mentality, masculinity, and military response, substituting spectacle for strategy and coercion for leadership." He also has an incompetent and totally gung-ho shill for his war in Pete Hegseth, who struts, bellows, and is stupidly dangerous.

The stated purpose of "Operation Epic Fury" was to induce Iranians to overthrow their government. (We won't go into the unstated purposes.)

But surprise, surprise! Faced with foreign invaders, former Iranian protesters now rally behind their government.

It seems Operation Epstein Fury is an epic failure. (Oh, gee! I promised not to go into that.)

Look at who started this war and nobody should be surprised at the failure that is taking place. The man is a failure, and now the saying that what Trump touches dies is in reality, the truth.

“Operation Epic Fury,”

No, no, no. “Operation Epstein Coverup”

Even his labeling is dishonest and deceitful.

Please know that the term "chicken hawk" has a much older meaning, used long before the Viet Nam war. A chicken hawk is what pedophiles call each other, because they see themselves as "hawks" looking for young children ("chickens") to molest, or perhaps they don't consider it molesting, but introducing or awakening a child to sexuality.

Please stop using this term to describe a cowardly or hypocritical warmonger. It enables pedophiles to pretend they are talking about draft dodgers if/when they are accidentally overheard. Yeah, sure, it's a clever use of the term, but it helps to hide the much worse behavior of child molesters who seem proud of using the term among themselves.

One of my uncles, born in 1925, (died of natural causes in his 80's) was just such a chicken hawk. In his case, he liked little boys, although most chicken hawks target little girls. My precious brother, born in 1956 & dead in 1972 before his 16th birthday, was one of his many victims. This same uncle also preyed on boys in the Big Brother program in San Francisco in the 1950's. There was family talk (that I wasn't supposed to hear back in the 1960's), that he was found out and forced to leave California, back in those days when behaviors like his were more likely to be hushed up than brought to court. I'm also pretty sure this uncle molested some of my male cousins, too.

Please, please, if you were innocent of knowing pedophiles proudly use this term among themselves, know now that your ascribing another meaning to it can abet cover up for far worse behavior than avoiding military service. Before I overheard chicken hawks talking among themselves, I only knew the term as what my other grandfather called any raptor who flew over his chicken coop, when he'd run for his shotgun.

After over 79 years of living in far less less innocent times, I cannot stand to hear this term's oldest and worst meaning buried under, or hidden behind, the idea of folks who don't want to serve in the military, not even in the good cause of calling out the hypocrisy of the Orange Pustule now exploiting the White House for his own criminal enrichment.
