Let's apply Kavanaugh's interpretation of a Constitution that must evolve when circumstances change and were not anticipated when it was written to the second amendment then. How many people can you kill with a musket versus with a semiautomatic?
Dictators are oh so imaginative in defining "enemies." One of Vladimir Putin's favorite and widely applied designations is that of "foreign agent." This plays on paranoid Stalinist themes and can encompass nearly anyone the regime dislikes or fears: journalists, people with foreign contacts, political opposition, or mere droppers of casual remarks.
The language in the 14th amendment doesn’t get any clearer. Those justices that go against what’s in the actual text are the same ones that claim to be textualists.
Unfortunately, the felon in chief has the court in his pocket. You’d think that someone who has risen to the Supreme Court would have the cojones to follow the law!
Vis-a-vis #3 above, I'm sure the Grifter-in-Thief will make an exception for purchases wherein the recipient payee is The Manchurian Cantaloupe himself, or any of his spawn, or any so-affiliated "charities".
I would further expect carve-outs based on degree of melanin deficiency and size of bribe. (Excuse me - "gratuity".)

My hope is that SCOTUS justices will see right through this effort to defy them and issue a stronger defense of the 14th Amendment.

I know it's getting to be an old trope but could we kick Trump and the majority of his children out as having mothers who weren't American citizens.
