I am so excited that you will be here in the Twin Cities going live. My hope is that you’ll be at St.Paul at Capitol. Many many of us will be there. I would love to meet you in person, but I understand that there are so many of us and we would all love to be with you in person. Thank you for coming here. Can’t wait to watch it live with you.❤️❤️❤️
Hey Brenda, I will also be at the capital in St. Paul on the 28th. I previously made a poster that said "Contrarians for Rule of Law" but found no other Contrarians, even in the crowd of 80,000 or so for No Kings 1. I hope to meet you or other Contrarily minded people, tomorrow, but aren't we all giddy about having Joan Baez, Bernie Sanders, Jane Fonda and our own local heroes there too? Be safe and have a good #3!
Rose it would be fun to meet you today. But if not, know our hearts are full with hope and enjoying all our great musicians and others. I’m excited to hear Bernie Sanders and so many others. Have fun.
Why "sad"? Protesting is key to maintaining a healthy democracy -- the way strikes are key to maintaining a healthy economy where workers matter. This is why those in power so often do everything they can to prevent them -- or, in the case of the corporate media, avoid publicizing them. My first protest was the Vietnam Moratorium in October 1969. I was 18. A month later I was a marshal in the *huge* New Mobilization march in D.C. One reason our democracy is faltering is that since the advent of Reagan, there have been too few public protests. Finally we've got our mojo back. We're taking back our power.
It does remind me of what I was doing some 60+ years ago - making signs and protesting. Also 77 and am at it again. There is no question that it's for a good cause!
Here in St. Paul, our bridge brigade has been promoting NKD3 like crazy--and Thursday afternoon, we'll be part of a border-to-border #NoKingsHighway coordinated action stretching along I-35 all the way from northern Minnesota to south Texas-- 44 actions in all to get the word out about a day that's going to be all about reclaiming democracy and our power, together. ✊️✊️
I can't go in person because of a medical condition, but friends have promised to REPRESENT extra-hard!
Also sent a barn-burner of a missive to my Senators and Representative today (again), because all this mess is intolerable, illegal, unconstitutional. (I prefer writing so I can organize my thoughts. Send all 3 the same message.)
Thanks so much for your coverage on Saturday. The clear and immediate task before us is to make No Kings Day 3 the largest single-day demonstration in U.S. history (as of this writing, over 3,000 protests are planned).
All of us will want to be able to tell our children, our grandchildren, or even our great-grandchildren that we each played a role in this turning point. Even if you are unable to go, you can be part of it: reach out to others who can attend through whatever social media you use, email them, or do it the old-fashioned way and pick up the phone!
The United States has simultaneously become both a pariah and a laughingstock. We must take back our country from authoritarians, fascists, billionaires, and fools. If we want to save our democracy, we each must assist in reclaiming it and work to restore our founding dream.
I’m attending. I called my lawyer and they were almost laughing here in Delaware but they were serious. I’ve contacted my closest friends and if they do not hear from me, then I am dead or in jail. Scary, at least there is Easter candy…
Hagerstown, MD won't be the biggest NK3 but it's critical. This is where folks are protesting against the human warehouse that is currently blocked but could be allowed to function in Maryland. An important story, and look at project salt box on substack for more details.
Grateful for ALL you do. Let’s hope NK3 turns out 3.5% of actively participating Americans that will actually impact saving our Democracy & that it ignites all Congressional Democrats not just a small number, to ACT on saving our Democracy, Humanity, our Earth. Shameful the numbers of active participation remains so low collectively. Like other countries, Americans should be out on the streets everyday to topple the t regime & not a few times a year (last NK2 October). We MUST do better collectively!
Will be joining with people in two towns here in mid Illinois (Staunton and Hillsboro). The protests are scheduled an hour apart to allow people to travel to both places. It's important to show up and be counted, and I hope that No Kings is a huge success across our country. Show up and stay safe.
Will the Contrarian folks be in Minneapolis on Saturday as you mentioned, but not the central one at the Capitol in St. Paul, Minnesota? I’m wondering where to find people.
So many times to need to protest from Viet Nam, Act 10, now No Kings. I know, even at 84, I’ll do my part and carry my sign, but also my walking stick, a chair, and a friend. I’m so glad we have independent media, like you, walking with us! Thank you!
I'll be at the St. Paul Capital, and I've written a fun protest song for my friends and I to sing while we wait for the program to begin. If anyone hears a revised version of Alice's Restaurant, complete with kazoos and not-great vocals, please come and join us and say "Hi"! We are excited and happy.

I’m sad that at age 77 I will need to be protesting again. But please everyone join these protests against kings, the protests are important.
Love you all 💕

Wow! I can't think of a more powerful way to demonstrate that we are "one nation, indivisible."
You are awesome!! Love it.

I hope Contrarians are talking about organizing a nationwide GENERAL STRIKE. To oust the wannabe king from office altogether. ✊🏻
Some armchair pundits like to talk about "general strikes." Do they have any idea what it takes to organize a successful one? Do you?
Amor fati
We will learn as we go.

While we are small we are strong here in St. Augustine Florida. Remember us as well Thank you
I'll be in Springfield, OH, at the protest there.
The Contrarians come out on top yet again!!!!!
