The very administration that claimed to be the victim of surveillance overreach is now asking for the keys to the most powerful spy machine ever built.
They have no right to any of my data unless I give them permission. I hope there’s massive unco-operation in getting this passed. It should be a felony for them to extract anyone’s data without their permission.

Many years ago (may be 50 or so) I went to a lecture at the Ethical Culture Society in New York City. The subject was the collection of individuals' private data.
At that time, governments in Scandinavia were regulating the amount of data that could be held, and for how long (always in the progressive forefront!)
I would like to see a system where people can opt to acquire new identification, including names and numbers, any stored facial recognition data, and particularly Social Security. After the fiasco with DOGE, the privacy of every individual in this country has been compromised.
I think it is clear that the members of Congress do NOT represent the people who elected them.
