Come on Maine. She’s gotta go. Vote!

Please confront her with Putin, corruption, Epstein etc.

If Trump wanted lower gas prices he'd ask his refiner buddies to stop war profiteering. ,

Susan Collins is emblematic of what the latter day rethuglican party has become. Mean, corrupt, spineless, and kowtowing to an insane president. They are mindlessly tribal and see nothing wrong with their worldview... They are cruel for the sake of being cruel and seem to enjoy hurting our people and the Country. Vote these evil bastards out over the next 2 weeks.

I think Marie Susan Collins Antoinette has carved her own epitaph (thanks to Troy Jackson): “Let them eat road salt,” the perfect epigram for her “concern” about hungry people.

Based on polls, the Senate race in Maine is tightening. To retire Susan Collins from the Senate, get every Democrat and liberal leaning Independent out to vote for Troy Jackson. I am very "concerned" that Collins is "disappointed" that she helped overturn Roe V Wade.

However, I will be quite elated if true Independents remove her from office.

Nothing about Susan Collins is Independent. Never really has been. She is nothing but recycled ineffective GOP policies just like the rest of them that need to go. Independent is a word to describe a maverick. Collins is not.

Right on: crocodile tears!

Collins is a bullshit artist, playing a role. She’s as cruel and cold and phony as they get. I hope Maine is done with her.

The tap-dancing granny needs to get out of Congress.

Sandy S's avatar

CE ... Tap-dancing is a great description of Susan Collins practice of leading us to believe that she is going to be principled, and then at the last minute turns around and votes along with the rest of the GOP. She has done this time and time again. We have seen more than enough of this baloney!!!. Time to move on, to a new senator from Maine!!!

One small correction: We should not say that RFK jr. "has become" an anti-vaccine crank. He WAS an anti-vaccine crank for years before Trump inflicted him on the entire country, able to ensure that communicable diseases easily prevented by vaccines come roaring back.

I have more respect for a scumbag like Ted Cruz than I do for Susan Collins. Ted doesn't pretend to be anything but a right-wing asshole. Susan is worse. She's a PHONY right-wing asshole. At least Ted is not a phony. Scumbag definitely. Phony, no.

She has no shame. Self serving politician! Get her outta there Mainers!!!!!!

She reminds me of Connie Morella, the Representative from Maryland 8. She pretended to be a "liberal Republican" but every time Newt said "jump" her only response was "how high". Newt let her vote with the Democrats when her vote wasn't needed (either because there was enough GQP support for the bill to pass without her, or because the bill was gonna flunk regardless of her vote). But when her vote was needed, she voted with Newt.

It worked for a while but eventually the voters in MoCo caught onto it, booted her out, and replaced her with Chris van Hollen.

Steve 218's avatar

Mr. VanHollen was a worthy replacement for Susan Collins, and should be considered to now replace Chuck Schumer.

Ivan Tufaart's avatar

I agree. Schumer has been around too long, and more importantly, he doesn't have the stomach for a knock-down drag-out fight.

It's like when Michael Corleone told Tom Hagen that he was fired as consigliare. He said:

Things could get rough, Tom, and you're not a wartime consigliare.

Chuck is a bright guy who is well-liked, but he's not a wartime leader-- fingers crossed that the position might even become a majority leader.

I think van Hollen is the right person for the times we have now.

Ah, yes. There Susan Collins goes again clutching her pearls and being "concerned." Same shit, different day.

I wish Jen had included a percentage as to how many times Ms. Collins voted to support the pogroms of the regime/junta that is running our country into the ground and making us into a pariah.

Bottom line: Maine deserves someone better than a MAGAt sympathizer fellow traveler who, like so many others, has sold her soul to the devil.

Let's hope that in a couple of weeks, Maine will have a TRUE independent Senator: Troy Jackson 2026.

Great job is summarizing Collins’ weakness and her many votes against Mainers. She has to go. I hope Maine has woken up and will vote for a strong alternative in Jackson.
